The preparations of race:
Before the race, we need small hands to prepare and deliver packages to runners (bags containing souvenirs & bibs). This mission will be approximately 1 week before the race, knowing that the delivery of packages will be starting from 10 July 2013 at office of Mauritius Marathon in Chamouny, 10h to 16h.
Welcoming of runners at the start:
The mission is to guide the runners, collecting the packages and to check the bibs. The departure of the Marathon will take place in the morning at 6:30 at Le Morne. The departure of Semi-marathon will take place at 7H La Prairie - Baie du Cap. We ask our volunteers to be present at least 1 hour before the arrival of runners to ensure optimal installation.
Help at check points and water points:
These are the key points along the route. Several points will set up on the course, each team managed by one responsible person to give information to the helpers. Runners can drink, eat fruits, relax and mark their bibs all under the encouragement of the responsible team!
Direction on the course:
To avoid runners from going in the wrong direction, the organization will put people on the course to make sure that all runners follow the right course.
The animation at the finish :
As soon as the runners cross the finish line, their time will be registered into the system and the bibs collected. All other time records will be also input into the system for control. You will congratulate all runners and have their photos taken once over the finish line.
The cleaning after the race: :
After the race or the cut off time set up on the course, the responsible team will clear and clean all remaining stuff on the course! The site must remain clean, no paper, etc must be left behind. This will ensure a clean course and responsible race contributing to the well being of everyone! A briefing for volunteers will take place before the race to explain different responsibilities. All volunteers will be invited after the race to a drink with the organization in a friendliness atmosphere!
